Since 1976 Volvo employees have donated close to SEK 20 million to more than 200 projects in poor countries around the world. The VUH is a voluntary, non-political and non-religious association open to employees of the Volvo Group and Volvo Cars.
Over the years we have supported projects focusing on helping people helping themselves in various parts of the world.
Our single largest projetct is the Fundacao Soidaridedade – a home for orphans in Curitiba, Brazil, founded at the end of the 1980s and funded by Volvo. Today there are around 50 children living at the orphanage and the objective is to give the children as good a start in life as possible in order to provide them with the tools to manage on their own in society.
As a member of the Volvo Employees’ Aid Association you contribute a set amount of money each month alternatively make single contributions/gifts. In some work places the amount can be deducted from your salary, otherwise you can simply make a monthly transfer to our account. You may also contribute one-off sums of money. A lot of people make donations in conjunction with 50th birthday celebrations or when they leave the company.
You can read how your money is used on each continent on our homepage. Read more about the orphanage here: Fundacao Solidariedade
